Artist’s
Statement
Stephanimals are original
handcrafted stuffed animals, blankets and children's clothing. Every
item is "unique like nature". Their soft, colourful storybooks educate
children about animals, habitats, and ways in which to help protect the
environment. From every item sold, $2 CAD is donated to a local
non-profit animal or environmental organisation.
Stephanie McPherson, the creator of Stephanimals, has been involved in
the arts ever since she was a small child. She graduated from the
University of Saskatchewan with a BFA Degree with Distinction, and
shortly thereafter, relocated to the West Coast where she's pursued her
artistic career, while avidly exploring B.C.'s outdoors.
Stephanimals combines her love for nature with her artistic flare,
colour and tactile sensibilities, and her inner child's sense of play
and wonder. Stephanie hopes to provide a connection between her cuddly
Stephanimal creations and real animals and help educate others about
environmental responsibility for the well being and longevity of all
life that inhabits this world; today and tomorrow.
