Artist’s Statement

I am an artist, designer, craftsperson and, master cabinetmaker (joiner). I began my career in Ontario as a classical guitar maker then moved into furniture making. I established my studio, FRANCIS LEMIEUX & CO (www.francislemieux.com) in Vancouver in 1982. Since then I have designed and produced an extensive body of commissioned work including furniture, architectural woodwork, sculpture and art works. I also design and produce a collection of furniture and art works called FRANK SMITH (www.franksmith.ca).
