Artist’s Statement

"Try something different and always take one step further." If there is any motivation behind my works, I think this is it. Graduated from School of Visual Arts New York, I majored in graphic design and 3-D illustration. To me, design is not to create something but to offer solutions to certain problems.

I love to experience different mediums while doing my design. It helps me to branch out from graphic into other different fields. Design is more than a job to me. It plays a big role of my life style.

"Blending esthetics into practical daily living." With the thought in mind, five years ago, I made a detour of my career. My wife and I both enjoy bathing very much. "Why don't we start from here?" she said; then we began to study bath related theory and take different courses about soap-making and bath product. 

After years of study and experiment, we established a workshop - Herbal Citizen. All the products have to be natural, veggie base, and environmentally friendly. From raw materials to the packages of final products, we look into every detail during the manufacturing process. Just like I said - "take one step further."
