Andrea Roberts

Artist’s Bio

Andrea Roberts grew up in Germany where she worked as a goldsmith and jewellery designer since 1987. Then in 1996 she moved to Vancouver. Ever since she started in the jewellery medium, Andrea creates one-of-a-kind jewellery.

To Andrea, art means a reflection of a person's soul. By using her imagination and artistic vision, she creates unique, harmonious jewellery. The combination of silver and high carat gold creates a wonderful balance between the two metals. In addition, Andrea often uses beautiful and unique gemstones as an important part of her designs. Her designs are made according to the colour and shape of the stones. Furthermore she likes to bring out the metal's natural character, therefore she rarely polishes the metal. The texture of the surfaces are often matte and smooth. To make a unique piece is very fulfilling and transformative for Andrea.

Since 1999, Andrea has taught jewellery techniques to students for the Vancouver School Board Continuing Education program. In addition she is teaching individually to professionals and non-professionals at her studio. She always welcomes new students at her studio to explore their creative potentials. Both teaching and designing jewellery is a wonderful opportunity to balance her creative universe.

Special orders are always welcome and they are always designed and fabricated with love for each customer's need.
