Artists' Bios

Jackie Frioud has a BFA from UBC in sculpture and printmaking. After starting to work in clay when her children were small, she discovered salt glazing at Capilano College in 2001. She fell in love with the element of chance that occurs in every pot in every firing and has spent the years since, exploring the relationship between that chaotic element and her own aesthetic. In 2007, she built her own salt kiln at her home studio in Horseshoe Bay.
