Heather Kostovich

Artist’s Bio

Heather attributes her love of fibres and textures to many contented childhood hours playing with scraps as her mother and grandmother knitted and sewed.

Her dolls are all one-of-a-kind using tea-dyed linen for the bodies, natural fibres such as wool, silk or bamboo for the hair, vintage fabrics, and unusual cottons, linen or wool for the clothing. All are stuffed with sheep’s wool washed and carded by Heather, from Deep Clay Farms of Prince George, and scented lightly with lavender and cedar essential oils.

Fabric and textiles allow Heather to be expressive and playful. All the materials are renewable or repurposed. The dolls are not intended for rough play.
