British
Columbia fibre artist, Rene Corder Evans, has created this exquisite
hand-felted garment. Fine merino wool and silk fibres have been felted
onto a background of silk fabric. It is the felting nature of the wool
that allows the fibres to migrate through the silk fabric and become
attached on both sides. No chemicals or glues are used in this process.
As with
all wool garments, pilling may occur. To remove the pills, gently brush
with a lint brush. Tassels are removable and should be removed prior to
cleaning.
Rene's
garments can be hand-washed in warm soapy water with no agitation. Roll
in a towel to remove excess water, do not spin. Lay flat on towel to
dry. Iron with a warm steam iron. As an alternative the garment may be
dry-cleaned.
