Rachel Gourley

Artist’s Bio

Rachel set off years ago to work her way around the world, and got as far as Vancouver. Since then she has not ceased to be inspired by the mountains and the ocean shores.

At first she tried to paint this landscape but the scale was too large.  She turned to the print medium and this gave her pleasure for many years.
 
A previous brief period as a botanical illustrator had concentrated her attention on the miraculous patterns in nature.

Discovering Polymer Clay in 2001 was an epiphany. Here was a medium which allowed her to create the organic qualities of natural forms and give expression to the strange and wonderful inspirations not only from the West Coast but also from travels in the Middle East.
