I remember when I was 15, the fog in
Milano, taking the train to the workshop early in the morning. The
workshop, packed with hammers, anvils, presses, and all the most
incredible tools, was my favourite playground. I remember Nonno
Gigi hammering and forging the gold, always driven by the desire to
obtain a perfect form. His big hands working on a ring, filing and
sanding until it was ready for the final polish. A golden mirror; I
remember my eyes getting lost in admiration, sinking into the matter,
captivated by its power.
More than 20 years has passed and this
same fascination still shines in my eyes when I complete a new piece.
This is why I spend my days at the bench, To share with you the lure of
the shine, to discover the simple perfection in every detail. To bring
these memories back to life one piece at a time.
Let me introduce my work; you will
discover depth and richness in textured surfaces, how every form is the
consequence of another, flowing naturally until the piece is fully
realized.
I am a jeweller. I build my pieces one at
a time, using ancient techniques that are almost lost, with new
techniques I am discovering constantly. Trying to further myself from
the formal restrictions of classical jewellery, my jewels are
nonetheless always returning to Hellenism and Liberty as sources of
inspiration.
The relationship between chaos and order,
movement and stillness, form and the absence of, possession and loss,
these dichotomies are constantly inspiring my jewellery.
Without being shy on material or
techniques, I want my pieces to be alive with a personality independent
from the context in which they are worn yet symbiotic with the wearer.
