JENNIFER LOVE

Artists' Bios

Jennifer is a fibre artist living in Garden Bay, Pender Harbour, BC, where she is building a new studio and plans to offer workshops in surface design, quilting and applique techniques.

Her publishing and library background has given her an eye for detail which translates to her design sense and attention to fine finishing.

Jennifer studied textile arts at Capilano College, North Vancouver, from 1999 to 2002.  She has attended numerous workshops and her work has appeared in many local exhibitions. She was a founding member of Foxglove Fibre Arts Studio/Gallery on Bowen Island and served as its Workshop and Exhibitions Co-ordinator until she moved away in 2005.

"Patchwork or 'piecing' has long been a passion of mine, so I'm always looking for ways to bring it into any non-quilt items I'm creating. There's something so satisfying about dyeing and printing fabric, cutting it up into small pieces and then reassembling it to create a surface that's entirely new. For one thing, it means that less than spectacular dyeing results can always be salvaged, always combined with something else to breathe new life into them! I love the process - and the resulting feast of colour and texture."
