Bio
Colleen Baran is a
Canadian, multidisciplinary artist (working in jewellery, photography
and book-works) who has exhibited internationally and been published in
North America.
Her work is based on a love of language, pattern and form.
In 2006 & 2007 she
was featured in four books including: “The Art and Craft of
Making Jewelry” by Joanna Gollberg (Lark Books, USA),
“Chain Mail Jewelry” by Terry Taylor and Dylon White (also
Lark Books, USA) and a bracelet project in ‘Felt
Underground’ By Marisa Mouton (published by Barnes and Noble
Books).
Recent exhibitions
include: 'The Objects of Longing' at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto
(Canada), "Jewellery Journey : Air", at the Museuem fur Kunst und
Gewerbe (in Hamburg Germany), ‘The Northern Lights’ at The
Design Exchange (Toronto, Canada) and ‘The 60 Years of MAG and
the Year of Craft’ at the Ontario College of Art and Design
(Toronto) the Alberta College of Art and Design (Calgary) and at the
New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (Fredericton).
